Welcome!

I'm a busy, but extremely happy mom of two boys (one 1 year and one 5 years).
My husband and sons love to laugh. We're a silly and blessed bunch.

Share your patriotism! Pick a book!

Does your child know a patriotic song? Share it on this site!

In honor of Memorial Day, 910moms.com member "MomMarla" posted a video of her 3-year-old son Samuel singing "God Bless America." It's a tear-jerking rendition -- in more ways than one!

Check out the video (Click the "Videos" tab) -- and then upload one of you and/or your children singing (or reciting) something patriotic.

The first 8 members who post patriotic videos can come to the newspaper office and pick a book from my library… Continue

I want to see your Dogwood Festival photos!

I invite everyone to post pictures from their adventures at the Dogwood Festival this weekend.

My family has had a blast at the annual event. The .38 Special concert rocked on Friday night and the kids enjoyed rides and festival food in the sunshine today. I shared some pictures on the Main page, but I want to see your photos, too!

We're going to miss the fireworks tonight (they were postponed from last night), so I'm hoping someone will post pictures from the show (set to go off after Collect… Continue

Craft Show at Highland Presbyterian Church

I'm so excited about the art show at Highland Learning Center this week. I LOVE kids' artwork. It's amazing what their tiny fingers -- and, yes, even their toes! -- can do. Here's a sample of the artwork that will be part of the center's auction and art display (made by the babies in the nursery):

Did you all see this story (published in The Fayetteville Observer and FayObserver.com on March 07)?

Thanks to Action for Children North Carolina, Fayetteville State University and state Rep. Rick Glazier for bringing this issue to the community's attention.

Carolina Home & Garden Show

If you're at the Carolina Home & Garden Show this weekend (www.carolinahomeandgardenshow.com), be sure to visit The Fayetteville Observer's booth -- A13. We'll be promoting 910moms.com and handing out copies of the past two issues of the print publication.

And we'll be folding the newspaper insert that promoted the event into nifty planters. (I haven't figured out yet how I'm going to fold the planter and hold my 9-month-old at the same… Continue

Mary,
Thank you and The Fayetteville Observer for your help, with spreading the word on all that's going on "For the love of Grandparents." Even for the information you helped give on the story about the shooting at "Pinelake Nursing and Rehabilitation" in Carthage, N.C., I am so sad to know that the lives of so many of our friends have been taken away, but I know I will always carry love for them and their memories will always be in my heart..Thank you for making it easy for my fans and friends to read up on the story and get the right information on my page the way you did..that was too cool..like I said..the Fayetteville Observer is the Best..thanks again for everything..Jan Pettey.."We Do It..For The Love Of Grandparents"

Thanks Mary for welcoming me. I do have (2) teenagers (1) of each with the girl being oldest (ugh) but I can honestly say that nothing can prepare you for what is ahead. Just keep the lines of communication open (yes, even at 4 months), make sure your rules/expectations are known/understood and stand your ground. Children really do like structure and discipline (and sometimes it is us as parents who aren't good with being disciplined ourselves ~ just speaking from experience). Read to your children and help them fall in love with learning new things; oh and make sure they know "who" God is and that He loves them!

Talk to you soon!

Hey back atcha, Tonya. So did your son ingest anything scary when he was younger? I confessed to drinking perfume as a kid in an earlier post. (Explains a lot, huh!)

Oh, so he's a tween -- between the baby stage and toddlerhood. What a wonderful age!

I'm not ready to toddler-proof my house again, though. Those tiny fingers can get into everything.

When I was a toddler (around 2, I think), I drank several bottles of my mom's perfume. My first kiddo is adventurous, but thankfully hasn't done anything that scary yet.
